The Bethel Island levee needs rip rap (rock).  BIMID tried to raise revenues for the rock with a parcel tax measure on the November 2010 ballot.  Measure X failed, but the levee still needs rock!

Many homeowners who voted yes for Measure X have expresed an interest in paying for rock for their section of the levee.  The BIMID Board of Directors approved this idea and has developed a program which will allow interested property owners to purchase rock for their portion of the levee.  This program is completely voluntary.  No one is required to participate.

For an average size lot (50 feet wide), the estimated cost is $1600 (includes rip rap, trucking, labor and equipment).  Lot sizes and quantity of rock needed vary, so a lot specific estimate will be provided for each interested property owner.
